The Royal Home is a home for unwed mothers managed by ATAM, Inc., (Alternative To Abortion Ministries) a non-profit organization.

The Royal Home is licensed by the State of North Carolina to care for 6 young ladies at a time.  House parents live within the spacious home providing care and leadership for the girls.  The home has an atmosphere of living in a normal residence.

Referrals can be made through a Health Department, Pregnancy Center, Church, friends and/or family.  Any young lady who makes placement in the Royal Home is eligible to stay until her baby is born.

The Royal Home provides housing, meals, transportation, and personal instruction for the girls under its care.  We have incentives such as vouchers which can be exchanged for baby items.  We also utilize a maternity closet from which the young ladies can borrow clothes while in the home.

Upon admission a young lady will choose a Pregnancy Counselor who will help her plan for the future.  The counselor will help her understand her options of adoption or parenting.  Through out the counseling process the young lady is never pressured, but is given information by which she can make her own decision.

The cost is based on the ability to pay and is agreed upon with the client or family prior to admission.  However, in no case is a young woman ever turned away for financial reasons.
