919 George Street, P.O. Box 704 Religious Community Services Volunteer Opportunities Morning Volunteer Opportunities: Receptionist: (8:00 – 12:00) Answer phone and direct calls or take messages. Pull and/or file client cards as needed. Monitor clients’ use of phone. Assist in bringing in donations. Clothing Volunteer: (9:00 – 12:00) Sort donated clothing for size and check for stains and damage. Fold and/or hang in proper bin or rack. Straighten clothing area. Afternoon Volunteer Opportunities: Aide Officer: (12:45 – 4:00) Pull and check the current client card to see if he/she qualifies for assistance. Fill out new cards as needed. Answer phone and direct calls or take messages. Record all aide rendered in the Daily Log. Supervise counter volunteers. Clothing Volunteer: (12:45 – 4:00) Greet client and have client sign-in to see Social Worker. Direct clients to Aide Officer to have card pulled. If needed, assist clients in selecting clothing. Record selections on cards. Assist Food Pantry volunteer in the distribution of bread and produce If not busy with clients, straighten shelves, etc. Food Pantry Volunteer: 12:45 – 4:00) Place bread, cakes, produce on counter to be given to clients. Fill food orders at the request of the Social Worker – using standard list for number of days and size of family. Put away food donations that come in. All Volunteers are asked to call their volunteer coordinator if they are not able to work so that a replacement can be found. 5/2007 |
