PHOENIX HOUSE, INC. Location/directions: Entering New Bern off US 70 at the Pembrooke Exit go to 2nd light and turn right unto Broad Street. Turn left at George Street. Go past the police station and turn right unto Cypress Street. Phoenix House is on left midway down the block. Phoenix House is a non-profit organization that works with addicts to help them better understand their addictions and stay sober. It is supported by United Way, local foundations, private donations and area churches. The Office hours are Monday – Friday 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM Phoenix House, Inc. consists of the office and meeting hall on Cypress Street and two halfway homes, one for men and one for women. The halfway homes are staffed by a volunteer house mentor who is in recovery and who has been chosen by the home’s residents. The homes provide: Support Tutoring on budgeting, cooking, and other life skills An opportunity to learn to live together in a healthy, responsible and cooperative enviornment The Meeting Hall on Cypress Street provides: Presentation area for groups Meeting place for any 12 step support group Classes/lectures on life skills Mon, Wed, & Fri 9:30 –11:00 AM CRISIS LINE NUMBER - 252-637-7000 Manned by Phoenix House personnel 24/7
