CARTS
On Wednesday a van is available to transport passengers to several locations in the Triangle Area. Call 636-4917 to make an appointment to travel. The cost depends on the number of people traveling in the 14-passenger van as the number going shares the cost.  Any veteran traveling will have to pay CARTS to travel and will be reimbursed by the VA.  A Medicaid client must make arrangements to travel through their caseworker.

If you have to travel to a non-VA Center location in eastern NC, CARTS will act as a transportation consultant. Financial help for transportation may be obtained through EDTAP (Elderly & Disabled Transportation & Assistance Program) depending upon eligibility criteria. The Rural General Public Fund is currently available to the general public for out of Craven, Jones, Pamlico County trips.  Clients need to contact CARTS for cost information.
