MERCI CLINIC This clinic provides free medical care and medications to qualified adults in Craven, Jones, and Pamlico counties. Volunteer doctors, nurses, lab technicians, and ancillary personnel provide the medical care. There is also a licensed pharmacy on the premises. The clinic is open from 2:00 PM until on Tuesdays and Thursdays and every other Thursday morning at 8 AM on a WALK IN, FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED basis The doors open at 7 AM for patients to "sign-in." They may then leave and come back by NOON for the afternoon clinic. Number seen will depend on number of providers for that day, and will be indicated on the sign-in sheet. Eligibility: This service is for adults ages 18 – 65, who have no medical insurance and meet the financial eligibility guidelines. This clinic does not treat children, pre-natal or post-natal patients, or patients with sexually transmitted diseases, as the Public Health Department will treat them. Patients who need treatment for mental health problems can be treated at the Neuse Mental Health Clinic instead of the Merci Clinic Referrals can be made to sub-specialist, but, there may be a fee attached once services are referred out of the clinic. 8/2008 |
