Capacity: 55 Apartments. McCarthy Court is a three-story independent living complex offering one and two bedroom apartments. The square footage ranges from 753 to 1436 with ten different floor plans. Construction is underway for thirty additional apartments with expected completion at the end of 2007 or beginning of 2008. Private resources are accepted, public assistance is not. Cost: There is a community fee of $2,500 or $3,500 upon move in. The monthly rental ranges from $1,950 to $2,125 for a one-bedroom and from $2,225 to $2,795 for a two-bedroom apartment dependent on the square footage. A second person fee of $625 per month is charged for a married couple. The monthly cost includes all utilities except phone and cable television; a full-service evening meal; weekly housekeeping; maintenance; scheduled transportation; a recreational program; and access to all community rooms. The full-time activities personnel involve tenants in community events as well as card clubs and musical groups performing for entertainment. For the evening meal tenants choose their entrée the week prior with a salad bar available during the meal hours. Features: Most apartments have a patio-balcony, washer/dryer hookup, computer hook-up and full kitchens. There is a daily check-in button as a safety feature to assure staff of the tenant’s well being and also an emergency pull-cord. Tenants have access to an exercise room; lounge; sunroom; recreational center; library/business center; private dining room; beauty salon; community laundry center, guest suites, and an attractive, landscaped courtyard centered around a fountain.
