General Information:  McCarthy Court is a senior living apartment complex owned by Bell Partners of Greensboro.

Capacity:  85 Apartments.  McCarthy Court has two three-story independent living apartment buildings offering one and two bedroom apartments.  The square footage ranges from 753 to 1436 with seventeen different floor plans.  Private resources are accepted, public assistance is not.

Cost:  There is a community fee of $2500 or $3500 upon move in.  The monthly rental ranges from $1750 to $2400 for a one-bedroom and from $2450 to $3075 for a two-bedroom apartment dependent on the square footage.  A second person fee of $675 per month is charged for a married couple. 

The monthly cost includes all utilities except phone and cable television; a full-service evening meal; weekly housekeeping; maintenance; transportation; a recreational program; and access to all community rooms.

Two full-time activities personnel involve residents in community events as well as card clubs, parties, and musical groups performing for entertainment.  For the evening meal residents are served the soup of the day, a choice between two entrées, fresh fruits and vegetables from the salad bar, and a dessert.   

Features:   Most apartments have a patio/balcony, washer/dryer hookup, computer hook-up and full kitchens.  There is a daily check-in button as a safety feature to assure residents’ well-being and also an emergency pull-cord.  Residents have access to an exercise room; lounge; sunroom; recreational center; library/business center; beauty salon; garden boxes; community laundry center, guest suites, and an attractive, landscaped courtyard centered on the fountain. 

Residents also receive priority status for Homeplace of New Bern Assisted Living if the need should arise.
