Office hours 9:00 am-5:00 pm Monday – Friday Legal Aid of North Carolina, Inc., New Bern office, offers free legal help in civil cases to eligible persons who cannot afford private attorneys. The New Bern, office serves low income clients in Beaufort, Carteret, Craven, Jones, and Pamlico Counties.
1. Legal Aid will draft wills, health care and durable power of
attorneys, as well as living wills at no charge for 2. Legal Aid may represent spouses, children, or the elderly who are current victims of abuse. 3. Legal Aid may represent individuals in Land Lord/Tenant problems. 4. Legal Aid my help individuals in unemployment hearings and appeals.
5. Legal Aid may help on appeals when it involves benefits for Medicaid,
food stamps or Social Security Income 6. Legal Aid may assist in child custody issues for the purpose of school enrollment. 7. Legal Aid may assist senior citizens in mortgage foreclosure issues. 8. Legal Aid may help with certain consumer matters. 9. Legal Aid may assist in certain matters of disaster relief.
