Homeplace is located in New Bern on McCarthy Boulevard close to Trent Road.

General Information:  Owned by Steven D. Bell & Co of Greensboro.

Capacity:  60 units.  40 are assisted living and 20 in a secured Alzheimer’s/Dementia program.  Private pay residents are accepted.  There are also some Medicaid designated accommodations for assisted living only.

Cost:  There is a community fee of $1,500.00 upon move in.  The standard private fee is $3,125.00 per month.  A deluxe suite is $3,500.00 per month.  Cost includes 3 meals a day, housekeeping, personal laundry service, as well as transportation for doctor’s visits.  Telephone service is not included and will be billed to the client by Sprint on a monthly basis.

Homeplace is staffed by an RN who is on duty 5 days a week and on call 24 hours a day.  Med techs dispense medications and certified nursing assistants provide assistance around the clock.  An Activities Director and an assistant place a strong emphasis on keeping residents active.  Activities range from community musical groups performing on-site to day trips at area attractions.

Features of Homeplace:  A country kitchen is available for families to gather for a meal. 
An Internet lounge is accessible where residents can use computers and/or receive instruction on their use.

  • The suites are furnished or a resident may bring their own furnishings.
  • Small animals are allowed however, there is a pet deposit required.
  • Transportation to scheduled appointments and trips are available aboard a ten-passenger bus
    with a lift to accommodate wheelchairs.
  • Kitchenettes in each suite as well as walk-in showers optimize residents’ independence.
