Box 729 This program provides opportunities to seniors in Craven, Carteret, Pamlico and Jones Counties and is sponsored locally by Coastal Community Action, Inc. and federally by the Corporation for National Service This programs offers healthy seniors age 60 and above the opportunity to work with children who require individual attention from a concerned and caring adult. This care will provide these children with: Self-confidence because you show you have faith in them More success in school because of your tutoring
Increased life skills because you have passed on some of yours. You will be asked to volunteer a minimum of 15 hours a week You will work with children in: Schools Developmental Centers Hospitals Nurseries Day Care Centers After school programs. You may be asked to rock babies, help with schoolwork, work one-on-one in computer labs, etc. Benefits: An annual physical examination Supplemental auto & liability insurance to, from, and at volunteer site Small stipend
for those who qualify (tax free) Help with meals and transportation costs Pre-service
