Focus Therapy Services, Inc. is a non-profit organization that is locally owned and provides pediatric therapy to special needs children in Craven and Pamlico County and the surrounding areas.

Licensed Occupational, Speech, and Music Therapists, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, Patient Coordinators and K-12 Art Educator.  .

Unique Programs Offered

Art In Focus: This therapeutic art workshop is offered the 1st Saturday of each month from 10-12 noon. It is an art workshop designed for children and adolescents with a developmental age of at least 6 years with developmental/physical, behavioral and emotional difficulties.

Music Therapy:  Group or individual sessions are available.  Children work on rhythm, timing, sequencing, listening skills and body coordination. Drumming circles are also scheduled through out the year.

Therapeutic Art Classes: Group classes available on weekly or daily basis.  Concepts utilized include Heavy Work, Tactile Desensitization, and Multimedia Construction.

Cognitive Tutoring for Dyslexia: basic Symbol Mastery and Symbol Mastery for Words.

Music and Movement Class:  designed for children with Autism or Pervasive Developmental Disorders to promote physical activity and socialization skills. Open to all qualifying disabled children with approval from executive director.

Social Skills Classes:  Available in New Bern or Bayboro one time a week with Occupational and Speech Therapists.

Kitchen Connoisseurs Classes:  Designed for children who are problem feeders who typically eat less than 20 foods in their diets.
