The office is located in the Industrial Park, west of New Bern.  Take US Route 70 West to the Clarks Exit (Industrial Park and Rest Area). Turn right at the top of the exit ramp. Turn right between the MOEN plant and the Committee of 100.  Turn left at edge of rose garden that is just past the fire station.

The Craven County Cooperative Extension Center is supported by Federal, State, and County funds. The employees are field faculty of NC State University and NC A & T State University.

This office provides educational resources for Horticulture, Agriculture, Environmental issues, Aquaculture, and Family and Consumer Sciences.

Family and Consumer Sciences:

1. SHIIP  (Senior Health Insurance Information Program)

Will provide assistance and education to groups or individuals

a. To understand Medicare benefits

b. To understand Supplemental Insurance Comparison. Guide booklet provided on request.

      c. To understand Medicare part D

2. Resource Management

a. Provide programs for churches or civic organizations on budgeting and debt reduction

b. Provide program, “ The H-Plan" to help plot the path your money will take.

3. Nutritional Programs  

Will provide programs to churches or civic organizations and individuals, if needed.

a. “ Eating Healthy on a Budget"

b. Portion control

c. Rethink Your Drink

d. Cook Smart, Eat Smart (12 hour cooking school)

e. Food safety and food preservation methods.
