Purpose: Provide services to any one who is
or has been the victim of
Family Violence
and lives in Craven, Jones, or Pamlico Counties.

The Victim Services
Program provides medical and legal advocacy, on-call response to the
hospital as needed, and acts as a case manager in working with other
agencies.
After the crisis,
the victim is referred to the agency for further assessment, counseling,
basic needs assessment, and referrals as needed. The agency acts as
a support system to people in crisis.
The services are
free, if there is no insurance, and available to people of all ages
and backgrounds.
The Council
provides educational programs in the school system, and to community
groups and organizations. Topics include:
1. K -
5th grade - personal body safety
2.
Middle and high school - rape prevention and sexual harassment
3.
Church groups and other organizations - rape prevention & sexual
harassment
Other topics
available are bullying prevention, dating violence, internet safety, and
general agency information. There is also a child sexual abuse
education and counseling component.
