Consumer Credit Counseling is a non-profit community service to help families and individuals manage their finances and is mostly supported by the local United Way agency, business leaders and creditors. The Coastal Carolina office provides services to Carteret, Craven, Jones and Pamlico Counties The purpose of Consumer Credit Counseling service (CCCS) is: o The prevention of financial difficulties through education in sound buying practices, budgeting, money management and the wise and proper use of credit. o Advise and counsel with families or individuals who are already burdened with excessive indebtedness to develop a plan of liquidation within their income with the cooperation of their creditors. o Provide guidance to families on budgeting and family money management as well as new widows or widowers who feels insecure in handling finances. Individual
counseling sessions are by appointment only and last 1 to 1
1/2 hours Counseling Hours As Needed 8:00AM – 5:00 PM Financial Management Workshops are provided to any organization that requests them. Services are provided by Certified Financial and Housing Counselors. CCCS is a member of the National Foundation for Credit Counselors and Accredited by the Council on Accreditation for Children and Family Services. 11/2007 |
