Location:  Go North on George Street and pass the police station.  You will find the Senior Center on the left, opposite the far end of the cemetery.  There are other congregate centers in Harlowe, Havelock, and Vanceboro.  Addresses and phone numbers are given at the bottom of this page.

The Senior Center and nutritional program is administered by the Craven County Department of Social Services.  It is funded by State and Federal Funding.

The Senior Center provides a gathering place for the senior citizens of Craven County.  There are many activities as well as a nutritional program that provides meals for eligible seniors who may need assistance with his/her sustenance.   

There are many activities in which to become involved such as arts & crafts, exercises class bingo, wellness fairs, and more.  Stop by the Center to check the calendar and ask about the activities in which you might be interested.

There is a Nutritional Program (meals for mobile individuals), for seniors 60 years and above.

  • Anyone may make a referral (for themselves or someone else) by contacting the appropriate center.
  • The site operator will do the assessment.
  • The meal is served at approximately 11:30 am - noon.
  • The participant may decide how many days he/she will attend.
  • The participants may make financial contributions.
