The Eastern Carolina Council Area Agency on Aging (ECCAAA) serves: Carteret, Craven, Duplin, Greene, Jones, Lenoir, Onslow, Pamlico, and Wayne Counties. The ECCAAA empowers older adults through education and advocacy. Local Help for Individuals: · Family Caregiver Support Program: Provides counseling, problem solving, access to resources, information and case assistance, and respite care; as well as assistance to the family caregiver to provide the best possible care while maintaining their own health and well being. · Ombudsman Program: Advocates for resident’s rights in nursing homes, adult care facilities, and group homes. Investigates complaints and assists families resolve concerns relating to long term care.
